RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Carolina Hurricanes have announced the start of a new girls’ youth hockey program as part of the NHL’s Industry Growth Fund.
According to the team, $215,000 will be invested into the program. Hurricanes Girls’ and Women’s Hockey Specialist Alyssa Gagliardi will head the program, set to begin in March.
“Expanding access to youth hockey in North Carolina has always been important to our organization,” said Waddell. “Girls’ hockey in the area has been expanding rapidly in recent years, and we want to do everything we can to support that growth and retention.”
