RALEIGH, N.C. — Wednesday is a big day in the state — the first day any adult 16 or older who wants one can get a coronavirus vaccine.
A drive-thru vaccine clinic open to all groups at North Johnston High School in Kenly had already reached capacity by 8:30 a.m., organizers said. The clinic officially opened at 8 a.m., but cars were in line as early as 4 a.m.
The state’s move to open up vaccinations to all groups comes nearly two weeks ahead of President Joe Biden’s goal to make vaccines eligible for adults in all U.S. states by April 19.
Everyone 16 and older will be able to receive the Pfizer vaccine, and anyone 18 and older can receive the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
