RALEIGH, N.C. — Afghan refugees continue to be resettled across the country, including in North Carolina. Organizations like Welcome House Raleigh are helping them find their footing once they arrive, but those types of nonprofits need funding to do what they do.
Welcome Ride 2021 is a fundraiser for Welcome House, and this is the second year it’s being held. Last year, a fundraiser coordinator cycled from the mountains to Raleigh, and this year he’s cycling from Raleigh to the coast. Also this year, Bill Baxley has joined the fundraising efforts this year and he’s using his woodworking skills to raise money for the cause.
